Central & Co, Oxford Circus Bar with room to move

Come 18.00 it can be murder trying to get a decent spot in a central pub or bar, especially on a Friday, spilling out onto the street they are, just getting to the bar can feel like the Gladiators Travelator!

That’s one of the reasons why I like Central & Co, it’s a short walk from Oxford Circus on Great Marlborough Street and has bookable tables.  I realise this may take a bit of forethought for a Friday, but other nights of the week, you might just be lucky.  Also, there may be room at the bar (much more so than other places anyway), or downstairs.

It’s open from 8am in the week, so a great spot for a morning meeting, with punter wi-fi.  There’s also all day food options including small plates and sharing options.  I ate lunch there and had a really tasty salad, their espresso martinis are also va-va-vooming.

It’s got table service, which can really help the flow of things , or you can make it up to the bar, friendly staff who know your stuff and can help you out with choices.

The downstairs area is really worth a peep, rather snug like with a darker look than the upstairs, large bar and seating areas.  I’ve had a good work function in the downstairs for about 15 people.  It was early in the week and we were the only people down there, which was pretty sweet for us!

So when you’re next in a fix for somewhere to meet around Oxford Circus that isn’t a total hassle, business, lunch, date night, or friend’s catch-up, this place hits them on the head.
