A friend played a gig at The Enterprise in Camden last week. Proper Camden establishment, music-centric, posters on walls, a little bit rough round the edges, but we like that, it’s Camden. The Enterprise has a large downstairs bar area with a upstairs room for performances.
So if you ever hear of musos needing somewhere to perform, think of this place. It’s got what seemed to me a good sound set up, which means it sounded fine and there was a Sound Man! A room that’s not too big if there aren’t many people there, but a good size to pack 100+ if you wanted. A risen stage takes up about a quarter of the room with a very decent amount of stage lights – must have been boiling up there! We paid a fiver to watch three bands, you need to go downstairs to the bar so best to get a drink on your way up.
I have to say, big props to young band Moth Trap! Beautiful voice and confident performance from the female lead, and an impressive show from the band all round – will be watching out for future performances!
Nearest Station: a stone’s throw from Chalk Fam tube station
Verdict: definitely a great shout for when you want to see some new music, it has a steady listing of gigs, including free open mic night every Wednesday
